Elma, It’s You — A Yorushika Album Book
Student project for Communication Design 3, not affiliated with Yorushika.

Overview
Yorushika, the Japanese duo of n-buna and suis, tells the connected story of Amy and Elma across their albums. This book retells that story so it can be read and heard at once: every chapter is paired with a song chosen for its mood, and a QR code on the page plays it while you read.
01
Three acts: The Meeting, Amy’s Journey, and Elma’s Journey.
02
One song per chapter, linked by a QR code beside each photograph.
03
Freight Big, wide tracking, and lots of white space keep every spread slow and quiet.
Spreads
Photographs of small European towns carry the story, each crossed by a single drawn line. Japanese lyrics run vertically beside the English text.

Design elements
One scribbled line is the book’s only illustration. Freight Big sets the titles, letterspaced wide like a pause between notes.

Posters
A white and a black poster carry the book onto the wall: the scribble on one, the vertical Japanese title on the other.

Large format
A 24 × 48 in. banner scatters the title across the page like a line of lyrics.
